We need a fantastic Vice President of Reimbursement to lead the fabulous team that is responsible for all reimbursement that comes from third parties such as Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance Providers, as well as driving new business in these sectors.  This role reports to the Managing Director in St. Louis.  The successful VP will also collaborate with the other leaders in the organization both locally and in Domtar’s offices, and especially with Domtar Personal Care Sales, and HDIS Purchasing and Fulfillment teams, to achieve overall strategic goals of the company.

Key Roles:

  • Lead the leaders in the Reimbursement group including providing performance management, driving expectations, setting standards, establishing metrics and data points by which the function will be measured, and providing opportunities for stretch assignments related to helping all team members reach their full potential

  • Develop new business and grow existing business by supporting and collaborating with the DPC Sales and HDIS Marketing teams, to support strategic initiatives on the Reimbursement side of HDIS; support strategic initiatives and growth across multiple locations in accordance with HDIS and Domtar mission, vision, standards and values

  • Bring significant industry knowledge of best operational practices, efficiency, productivity, sustainability, compliance and profitability in closely related industries; apply knowledge from prior experience to HDIS operations in ways that respect and nurture highly valued HDIS culture while driving down our cost to service patients

  • Drive the success of the Reimbursement business unit through understanding of payer policies, regulations and reimbursement guidelines

  • Drive communications, motivational and incentive plans to ensure key performance indicators are met working with and through the leaders in Reimbursement/NPP

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to ensure all goals are achieved in alignment with overall HDIS strategic plans and initiatives, Domtar standards and legal requirements

  • Monitor external factors such as governmental and legislative changes, Medicare/Medicaid and insurance company changes, market demographics, technology, media, economic changes, industry trends, available products, new innovations in personal care, and other related news as they relate to HDIS and specifically to NPP

  • Drive the strategy of how HDIS will respond to those factors and lead the team in implementing those strategies
  • Serve as member of HDIS’ Executive and Leadership teams and actively participate in meetings and activities as required

  • Travel as required to fulfill the position responsibilities (potentially 1x per month)

  • Other duties as required

Required Experience or Background:

  • 10+ years’ experience in senior leadership role; 10+ years’ experience in Medicare, Medicaid and insurer reimbursement activities

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field

  • Budget experience at the executive level including capital projects, ongoing expenditures, salary administration, analysis of ROI and potential ROI, and data driven decision making

  • Healthcare experience and knowledge required; personal care products industry preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • MBA, MHC or other advanced education beneficial
